Pyramid Marketing Design & Technology owner rows to victory with local Irish rowing team
Pyramid MDT owner Thor Torgersen helped make a splash with the
Hanafins Public House Currach Rowing Team at the recent Celts and
Currachs Festival held on the New London waterfront. The team made up
of Thor Torgersen, Diramuid Hanafin, Jim Cane and Joey DePasquali
rowed to a first place against the eight other teams competing.
With only a few practice sessions together before the event, they were
able to put together a first place showing for the hundreds gathered
on the docks to watch and cheer on all the teams. Everyone had a
rousing good time as the event carried on into the night at Hanafins
Pub located on State street across from the Garde Theater.
The team continues to meet on Tuesdays to practice and maintain the
traditional Irish watercraft. Those interested in rowing or forming a
team should contact Diarmuid Hanafin at Hanafins pub or email
info@hanafinspub.com. If there is enough interest it is possable that
a rowing club may be formed.
